North West Eco-Innovation Programme
The North West Eco-Innovation Programme provides free, tailored support to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) exploit the market for sustainable products and low-carbon solutions, and to develop products and services suitable for a low carbon economy and move their business ahead of the rest.
Businesses can access support to equip them with the necessary tools and knowledge needed to eco-innovate. This includes specialist one-to-one advice on the development of new and existing products, processes and services, and product design that enables recycling and re-use, low or zero waste products and low carbon technology and services.
The programme forms part of the Government's national package of business support - Solutions for Business. It is delivered in the North West as part of a package of free 'Improving Your Resource Efficiency' support for businesses.
The level of support available varies depending on business needs but can range from two days of consultancy up to a six-month placement including a graduate consultant to help develop a specific project.
The support is funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and delivered by C-Tech Innovation Ltd and the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) at Lancaster University.
