Walker Simpson won the Built Environment Award in the 'project costing more than £1 million' category, for North City Library and North Manchester Sixth Form College.
The Manchester development incorporates a rainwater harvesting system to cut water use, solar thermal technology and natural ventilation that eradicates the need for air conditioning units.
